Tangled Blooms was founded by Hudson Valley designer Gabrielle Parr, whose path into floral design began long before flowers. She spent nearly two decades working in construction and interior finishes, developing a deep understanding of materials, structure, and spatial composition. That technical foundation continues to shape her work today—approaching floral design not simply as decoration, but as a way to shape and define space.

Before founding Tangled Blooms, Gabrielle spent five years with Hudson Valley floral studio Heart & Soil Flowers, where she led operations and executed large-scale floral installations and events. Her background in construction instilled a strong discipline around project management, timelines, and on-site coordination—skills that allow her to execute complex installations efficiently and reliably.

Drawn to the quiet beauty of natural forms, Gabrielle creates botanical compositions that emphasize movement, balance, and restraint. Branches, seasonal blooms, and sculptural stems are often paired with handmade ceramic vessels, resulting in arrangements that feel organic, architectural, and grounded in their surroundings.

Her work is particularly focused on installations and tablescapes, where florals interact with light, texture, and the built environment to create spaces that feel thoughtful and immersive.

Based in the Hudson Valley, Gabrielle works with couples, private clients, and hospitality partners who value natural materials, seasonal design, and a refined sense of place.

Tangled Blooms reflects the quiet complexity of nature — stems crossing, branches weaving, and flowers finding balance within a living composition. When she is not designing for events, Gabrielle can often be found in her ceramics studio or exploring the forests and river towns that continue to inspire her work.

TANGLED BLOOMS APPROACH

Tangled Blooms approaches floral design through the lens of structure and space. Each project begins with careful observation — understanding the architecture of the environment, the movement of light, and the natural forms that will inhabit the space.

By working with seasonal materials, sculptural branches, and handmade vessels, the designs emerge organically, allowing the work to feel both intentional and deeply connected to its surroundings.

Structure

Designs are developed in response to the architecture of the space and the movement within it.

Seasonality

Many Hudson Valley venues open onto the surrounding landscape. Our designs draw from what is happening in the environment, creating a natural continuity between the space and the celebration.
